1. What ages can participate?

5-12 years of age (4 year old children can play as long as they turn 5 by December 31).

2. Can I request a coach for my child to play for?

No. We do not honor request other than siblings; however, you may strike one coach.

3. What do I need to do to coach?

Fill out a coaches application and turn it into Athens Recreation Center. Background check and concussion training are min requirements.

4. When does the season begin?

Practice will be in March; games in April and May.

5. What days will they play?

Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays (Saturdays will mostly be for rain-outs).

6. What time will they play?

Weekday games will start at 5:30 p.m.; Saturday games will start at 9:00 a.m.

7. Do they have try-outs?

They will have a skills evaluation in order to divide the teams up as evenly as possible.

8. How many games will they play?

Approximately 12.

9. Will there be all-stars?

Yes. We will have a 6U, 8U, 10U, and 12U all-star team.

10. Do all players receive a participation award?

All participants in the 5-6 and 7-8 age groups will receive a participation award. All participants that finish in 1st or 2nd place in each age group in the league and/or tournament will receive an award.

11. What bats are legal?

Any bat marksed "Official Softball" or has USSSA thumbprint. All-Stars must use a bat with USSSA thumbprint.
