Virtual Meeting Options during State Health Order for COVID-19

The City of Athens Planning Commission is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Per the directive of Chairperson Gina Garth, the October 2020 Planning Commission meeting will not be physically open to the public, but per COVID-19 protocols, it will be live-streamed so that the public (including any applicant or other person interested in any agenda item) may listen, observe, and participate in the meeting without being physically present. 

If you wish to view the meeting online, simply click the link below titled "Join Zoom Meeting" and follow the prompt. If you wish to use a phone to dial-in to listen to the meeting, you can use the phone number listed under the "Dial by your location" heading. Long distance charges may apply. 

During the meeting, questions or comments regarding agenda items may be taken through the ZOOM platform or may be directed to a separate phone line at (256) 262-1430.

Submission Dates

Items to be reviewed by the Planning Commission must be submitted (complete application, exhibits, and other necessary documentation) to the Engineering Services and Community Development Department at least 21 days prior to the Commission's regular meeting unless otherwise posted.  Items will be reviewed by City Officials at the Interdepartmental Review Committee Meeting every first Wednesday of the month, unless posted otherwise. Applicants, engineers/land surveyors, developers, etc. who have placed an item on the agenda are encouraged to attend both the Interdepartmental Review Committee Meeting and Planning Commission meeting.

Minutes from Planning Commission meetings are available for inspection in the Engineering Services and Community Development Department at City Hall.
