Athens Police Department
Athens Police Department is dedicated to the service of the our residents, local businesses, and visitors. Chief Floyd Johnson leads a department of 46 sworn officers, up to 20 reserve officers, 7 dispatchers, and 3 administrative staff. Since crime prevention is our first priority, officers vigorously patrol neighborhoods and business districts 24 hours each day. Some of the many services provided by Athens Police Department include residence checks while homeowners are out of town, traffic enforcement, criminal investigation, and traffic control for special events.
Homeowners going out of town are encouraged to come to Athens Police Department and complete a residence check form. During your absence, officers will conduct extra patrols at your home and notify you if any problems are discovered.
Your support for this Golf Tournament will assist our Honor Guard and Reserve Officer programs.
